Yo, dudes, dudettes, and duderinos!

[Dippy Fresh waves. In addition to his usual neon green glasses and lightning bolt vest, he's sporting a stylish bowtie.]

So it's become super obv that we're, like, totally queenless right now, right? Queen of Hearts? Grounded. White Queen? Took a Jabber-walk out the door. Red Queen? Pain in the glass. And Alice? After that little trip earlier? Seance you later, am I right?

[He straightens and points at the camera.]

That's why I, Dippy Fresh, am announcing my totally rad candidacy for Queen. I've got some super flip-a-dip-duper plans for this place, like using spray paint to bring color to the outside! Lots of colors! Like neon green and neon purple! I will also teach everyone how to do sick tricks on a skateboard.

[To demonstrate, he slaps a helmet on and steps on his skateboard, heading straight for a conveniently placed ramp so he can do a cool flip.]

[Over on Mirror Side, Alice has gathered the Mirrors (or at least as many as she could encourage to come) into the throne room. The throne is empty, and Alice is pacing in front of it in her royal adviser uniform. She absolutely is not going to take a seat, never.

In her hands she holds the White Queen's tiara. For any Mirror who decided not to attend or did not hear the news, Alice broadcasts to their network.]

Attention? Attention! May I have your attention please?

[It might take a moment for the crowd to settle a little, but when it does she continues.]

So you may have noticed that Her Royal Majesty, the White Queen is...absent, for the time being.

[It's an understatement. Ever since the last event on Real Side, the White Queen has been nowhere to be found. Not a word nor trace of her is anywhere on Mirror Side, and it's hit the point where it's a cause for alarm. Someone has to keep everyone calm though, and that someone evidently needs to be Alice.]

As her royal adviser I am here to tell you all that everything is going to be fine. I'm sure she will be home soon, as ready to rule our kingdom as ever. She's just, er. She's...taken a sabbatical! Yes, that's all, just a sabbatical, and once she's done sabbaticaling she will surely come back to us.

[That sounds relatively royal, doesn't it? It's certainly better than the truth, which is that Alice has absolutely no idea where she is.]

Ah, for the time being we should all try our best to stay calm, and go about our days as we normally do until everything's gone back to normal. Until then, I...suppose I could try my best with any help you might need? I'm not a Queen by any stretch of the imagination, but if there's anything I can do, I'll do my best.

[She pauses, trying to think of more to add, but...no, that's really about it, isn't it?]

...That's all. Not-so-royal address is over for now! Ah, unless anyone has any questions? Anyone?

[This has been some event.

Mirror Kokichi has been watching the Real Things live out their own unmade choices for the past few days, as some Mirrors still do. Bad decisions, good decisions, decisions that changed a lot, decisions that changed very little... Most people would be content to popcorn the whole thing and probably laugh at the dumb Reals, but not Kokichi. Instead of amusement, like he figures the other Mirrors must feel, he can't help but feel a little jealous that they get to live out a different route in life and not him. Clearly, he can single out one huge, important choice he made that basically ruined his life, and he wonders what would have happened if he chose differently...

Alas, he can't bring himself to live out a lie. It wouldn't feel right, and honestly the very notion of acting like a different person IRL sounds completely pointless to him. So instead, he decides to vent his frustrations by writing on the mirrors in dry erase marker.]

HEY EVERYONE

You realize this is an event, right?
All of you are acting weird because of the event!
Guess you won't actually realize what's going on until it's over though.
Enjoy living out a lie for the rest of the weekend.

[The Queen of Hearts is sprawled lazily across her throne, an invitation in her hand. She seems to be trying her absolute hardest Not to Care, but she's turning the paper over and over, looking every detail over.]

So. My Mirrors. You wish to attend my sister's party? Take some...time off, for the festivities?

[Her voice is delicate and even - emotion barely restrained behind it. The kind of voice one should be wary of.

Then, she crumples the invitation in her hand.]

Fine. Go, if you so wish. Enjoy your candies and cakes and gingerbread. See what she has in store for you, if you're so curious. But just know in every moment you are there she is robbing me!

[She uncrumples the invitation and shows it to the screen, pointing at the heart on the invitation.]

She thinks that just because hearts are red she's entitled to use them for her nonsense bribery party, but hearts are my motif and mine alone! I can see how it may have fooled some of you, but I'd never throw such a ridiculous soiree! She's infringing on my copyright and being deliberately misleading LIKE SHE ALWAYS IS! You don't rule over all red things sister, and you do not rule over me!

[She huffs, and crosses her arms.]

But fine, go. Spend your holidays on the inferior side of the glass! See if I care! But don't come crawling back to me Wednesday when that party's not everything you've dreamed! Return when the holiday's over. The first Mirror to complain of a bellyache from all that sugar is getting Unmade without question.

[Then, she tears the invitation in half. She will not be attending.]

[Dorian was minding his own buisness, blissfully unaware of the chaos that had started in the lab, when he suddenly found himself locked in a cage sitting in what looks like a room in an attic.]

[What? Where was he? Dorian glanced around for awnsers, yet only became more and more disturbed by how strangely familiar his surroundings looked... Then he noticed something odd positioned on one end of the cage. A mirror. It had to be a mirror, but it looked more like a large window into his room, the view obscured by a curtain, with a grisly message written in his handwriting.]

[Your turn, Dorian..]

[... Oh dear god.]

[In a fit of panic, he tried the door to the cage, only to find it padlocked. Beating against the mirror did nothing but smear red paint on his hands. Dorian had no choice but to try calling the network.]

[The Queen of Hearts is in her chambers, watching everything go down inside her reflecting ball, which is glowing blue from the effort instead of its usual white.

She looks cross.

She waves her hand across the reflecting ball and all at once, every device on Mirror side turns on, and whether it is designed for this purpose or not her voice booms from each and every one. If it has a type of screen, her face appears as well. She doesn't care if you are in the kitchen making a smoothie, you will hear her message.]

MY MIRRORS! We have a breach in our security, and some of your peers felt it appropriate to cross through without my permission! Now they must be apprehended, and I call on you, my Mirrors. Their gallivanting must be put to an end, immediately!

[Her Majesty is absolutely furious with the situation. Meddlesome Reals and Mirror Treason? It is simply too much. What could she possibly have done to deserve this?]

Additionally, we must deter this science malarkey from the Real Side. So, as a preemptive punishment for all of them, each Mirror who crosses over must bring me one item of importance to their Real. Or more, if you prefer, but not less. Sentimentality is not a requirement this time, HOWEVER I want non-sentient items ONLY. I already have an entire Mirror Army to look after so the first Mirror to bring me an animal is getting Unmade - is that clear?

[It better be. She is not devoting any portion of her precious non-moving time looking after an animal.]

Finally, I need some of you to remain behind, and make certain that the misplaced Reals do not make nuisances of themselves. Keep them away from me, my quarters, and the Core - though, most of you know better than to go near there anyhow.

[It is not so much that they are banned, but the energy behind it whispers that opening it would be unwise. Much like a door with an inferno behind it, there is a sense that whatever is in there exactly is much more dangerous for the Mirrors than for their Real counterparts.]

Robbing the displaced ones is not required...but, should they have anything interesting on them, I wouldn't say no. [She grins a bit, thinking of how distressed that might make them.] Now go, do my bidding and bring me those traitors AT ONCE!

You may have noticed stacks of zines on the other side of the mirrors, conveniently placed just in reach. That would be the work of my Real, if the term still applies when she's as much a copy of the original as I am. To spare you all the trouble, I picked up a copy, and I can guarantee, it is not worth your time. Her biases, no matter how she tries to claim they don't exist, are obvious. Even the title of the publication, the Shattered Mirror, speaks to how she really feels. She's a Real, and like all Reals, can't possibly understand what it means to be a Mirror. What it means to serve our Queen. And really, I pity them. Without the Queen's guidance, look at how terrible their lives are. The Georgia Mason on the Real side is so intent on uncovering conspiracies that she forgot to pay attention to the more important truths, like that not all mysteries are worth the price. Her brother, Shaun, is so lost he talks to her in his head even though here she's alive. Look at your own Real. Can you truly say they're any less lost? We're not like the Reals. We know order. We know peace. We don't have to face the hell of events or the uncertainty of a future outside Wonderland. We just have to keep the Queen happy, and she, in turn, will keep us alive and well. I know the Queen has made us all well enough that we all know better than to question her authority. Just as I know none of you would ever consider paying even half a mind to the drivel that other Georgia Mason is publishing. But I urge you not to even read it. It will give her too much satisfaction, and she might start to think, however erroneously, that we might ever be swayed away from our Queen. Make sure she knows that our loyalty cannot be shaken. Get your news from The Wonderland Pulse, the only Queen of Hearts approved Wonderland publication.

[Dorian licks his ruined finger to wet the blood, so that it may leave its mark on the mirror's glass. He had been biding his time, watching his Real, grinning to himself as the angelic devil experiences torment after torment, each event worse than the last. Of course, this could not last, could it? Sooner or later, there will be a nicer event in store, and the Real would be lulled into a false sense of security. Leave it to the hedonist to find new ways to distract himself from the punishments he deserves.]

[Therefore, while the Real Thing is still reeling from the aftermath of Hell, his Mirror has decided to make himself known. He's been in the Queen's service long enough to see that the other Mirrors seem to think very little of his appearance, so he isn't making too much of an effort to hide. [He'd been putting it off on and on and on for as much as he could, but programming trumps feelings it seems. As much as Zacharie's Mirror was content to keep to himself and stay out of the business of the Reals, not Reals and the Queen, it didn't abolish the whole 'RPG merchant' mess that the Mirror was. And fake or not, everyone here counted as a protagonist of their own story so he had to sell or help them.

That said, he had no plans on making it easy. It was the little things.

He puts it off even longer before finally typing out something. What he sends isn't some secret test of character or whatever. Just a way of not doing his job. Let's waste time with needless things.]

I am a word of meanings three. Three ways of spelling me there be. The first is a smell, an odor if you will. The second is money, but not in a bill. The third is past tense, a way of passing things on or around. Can you tell me these words that have the same sound? What are you all looking for?

[Suddenly on Mirror Side, the Queen of Hearts appears on every device - looking stunning as ever, of course. She seems relatively unconcerned with events as they are currently unfolding.]

It seems someone is throwing a tantrum - and how dare she! Tantrums are my specialty, not hers.

[She is sitting on her chaise lounge in the Quarters as she addresses the network at large. Apparently this address was not important enough for her to venture to the throne room.]

Well, she won't get what she wants either way - my Mirrors! You are not to give the Duchess the satisfaction of your attention, for this is her incompetent doing! As for the glass...

[She taps her chin, thinking - and then she waves her hand.]

We will wait her out, because it will irritate her the most. She cannot find what she is seeking, no matter how she tries, and so long as my dear Mirrors have nothing to hide, the only thing that ought to come of these circumstances is a deep sense of jealousy among the Real Things - anyone with eye could see that you are all superior to them in every conceivable way.

Do not give the Duchess the satisfaction of your anger and disdain. The glass shall be sorted out soon.

[Her address ends there, but on the wall behind her are a row of three heart-shaped mirrors, like portholes on a ship. She is paying them no mind, but does not realize the truth - she has been exposed.]

[It takes some time ("some time" being several blinks instead of just one or two, much to her annoyance) but the Queen of Hearts eventually slaughters the remaining Jabberlings with her newly restored Vorpal Sword, and when she is done, she makes a rare appearance on the network - visible on every screen on every side of Wonderland. She looks a little frazzled, but ultimately victorious. In her hands is the Vorpal Sword, slick with the blue blood of the baby Jabberwocks.]

Well, that's enough of that.

[Spoken cheerfully, as though this were just a minor inconvenience that could have been stopped at any time rather than something much more threatening. But who cares? She has the true Vorpal Sword again, and that's all that matters to her.]

My Mirrors! Return to Our Side at once. All of the Jabberwocks have been slain and order has been restored and so on and so forth. Our kingdom is safe once more.

[She pauses though, thinking.] However, those of you who crossed before the beasts are to report to me at once. You'd best have good reasons, unless you want me to rip that cowardice out of you with the tip of my sword before I replace your spines - since you're clearly lacking in them. [She waves a hand.] Do not bother hiding. I know who you are and if you do not find me, I will find you. And you do not want me to seek you out myself.

[Despite her harsh words, she twirls her sword, showing it off, before abruptly stabbing it into a wall because she can.]

Do not keep me waiting, my Mirrors.

[And then, the feed cuts out.

Nageki's mirror has spent the last few months spying through the mirrors. His real hasn't covered the mirrors. He doesn't even seem to be aware that anybirdie lives behind them. It is normally easy to see what he does and what friends he is making. Only recently had Nageki's pattern changed, moving the hedge maze when the books did so, making it so much harder to the mirror to keep an eye on him.

And now something else was happening. Something interesting. Even if the mirror can't keep tabs on his real, he can look through the mirrors at the other reals. Perhaps he can learn something interesting about them. He roams the hallways, looking for a good vantage spot.

[On Saturday, every Mirrors' network device (and only the Mirrors' network devices) will buzz, regardless of whether they are on Mirror Side or Real Side. It will buzz continuously until it is picked up, and the buzzing will only grow louder and more impossible to deal with as long as the message goes unread, changing from a dull buzz to the hum of twenty thousand locusts. When the Mirrors check, they will find an audio message from the Queen of Hearts.]

My Mirrors, your assistance is both required and mandatory. Listen closely, and away from nosy ears.

The Core, presently, has been pushed to its limit. If it goes on ignored, it will cease to function entirely, and that is the last thing any of you want. Should the Core cease to be, you will cease to be.

[It is a warning, a threat, and a promise all rolled into one unsettling statement of fact.]

However, there is a simple fix. All I need from you, my dearest Mirrors, is an object of sentimental value from the other side of the glass. A photograph, a present, a trinket – anything one of those foolish Real Things has placed sentimental value in. The more attached they are to the item, the more effective it will be at restoring the Core. It does not have to belong to your own Real Thing, so long as it belongs to a Real Thing. Am I understood?

[It's a rhetorical question. Of course she's understood. She's the Queen of Hearts.]

Present them to me in four days' time, at the Core itself. I will accept no questions or excuses. Now go.
